Court Thorn Surgery will be actively supporting eligible patients during the Autumn 2026 Flu and COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign.
Vaccination remains one of the most effective ways to protect yourself, your family, and our wider community from serious illness during the winter months. We strongly encourage all eligible patients to take up the offer of vaccination when invited.
Who is eligible?
Seasonal Flu Vaccination
From 1 October 2026, flu vaccinations will be available for eligible adult patients, including:
- Adults aged 65 years and over
- Adults aged 18 to under 65 years who are in a clinical risk group
- Residents of long-stay care homes
- Carers and those who provide regular care for vulnerable individuals
- Close contacts of immunocompromised patients
- Eligible frontline social care workers
- Children and pregnant women may be offered vaccination from September 2026 through the national programme.
Autumn COVID-19 Vaccination
Patients eligible for an Autumn COVID-19 vaccination are expected to include:
- Adults aged 75 years and over
- Residents in care homes for older adults
- Patients aged 6 months and over who are immunosuppressed
The national programme is designed to provide additional protection against severe illness and hospitalisation during the winter season.
When will patients be contacted?
Court Thorn Surgery will begin contacting eligible patients as soon as vaccination clinics become available and NHS booking guidance is confirmed.
Patients will receive invitations by:
- SMS text message
- NHS App messaging (where available)
- Telephone call (for patients who are unable to receive text messages)
Please ensure your contact details are up to date so that we can reach you quickly and efficiently.
Booking Your Appointment
Where possible, we encourage patients to use the direct booking links included in their invitation message. These links provide the quickest and easiest way to secure an appointment.
Using the online booking links helps to:
- Book appointments instantly
- Reduce waiting times
- Keep our telephone lines available for patients needing urgent advice, appointments and ongoing clinical care
Your support in using these links wherever possible is greatly appreciated.
Can I Have Both Vaccines Together?
Yes. If you are eligible for both the Flu and COVID-19 vaccines, we strongly encourage you to have them at the same appointment whenever possible.
Receiving both vaccinations together is safe, convenient, and helps ensure you have the best possible protection ahead of the winter season.
Further Information
We will continue to update patients as further details of the national campaign are confirmed. Please keep an eye on our website, social media channels, NHS App notifications and text messages for the latest information.
Thank you for helping us protect our community this winter.
