First Contact Physiotherapy (FCP)

Expert Help for Muscle, Joint and Back Problems

If you are experiencing pain or problems affecting your muscles, joints, bones, tendons or ligaments, you may not need to see a GP first.

Our First Contact Physiotherapist (FCP) provides expert assessment, diagnosis and advice for a wide range of musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions, helping patients access the right care as quickly as possible.

FCP Clinic Availability

Our First Contact Physiotherapist holds face-to-face clinics at Court Thorn Surgery on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month.

However, access to the service is not limited to these clinic dates. Patients can also access:

  • Telephone and video consultations Monday to Friday
  • Additional face-to-face appointments at Birbeck Medical Group and The Lakes Medical Practice throughout the week, where clinically appropriate
  • Specialist musculoskeletal advice and assessment without the need for a GP appointment in many cases
